Dylan was born into a family with two older brothers. He is the third and he is strong and beautiful and undoubtedly loved. Only one of those brothers was there to greet him in person on his birthday, but his older brother, Conner was definitely there. Conner passed away unexpectedly at just over a year old. It is every mother’s nightmare, but for this family it is a part of their story. One could expect walking into a home who has lost a child to have overwhelming sadness, but that is certainly not the case. Instead it is packed more snuggles, more gratitude and more love. From my time with this sweet family it is so abundantly clear he has two big brothers looking out for them and that his presence brings something so special into this family. Welcome to the world Dylan: you are already so welcomed and loved.
The fall season is packed with all things weddings. In the Maryland, DC area the change in season and beautiful leaves seem to woo many couples into tying the knot. But on top of being prime wedding season it is also prime baby season. In just the first week of October, I had over five moms give birth within 6 days. And they weren’t the only ones.
While the majority of my business focuses on weddings, the portrait side of my job is one I truly love. Sitting down in quiet nurseries with new parents or first time big brothers and sisters is such a rewarding feeling. It is a sweet reminder that this is the ultimate icing on the cake from that wedding day that happened however many years ago.
Sweet little Alex was one of my fall babies who I just adored being with. Her parents are both doctors in the military so they were so calm and relaxed through out the entire session. On top of that they just couldn’t get enough of their new little one or each other making my job nice and easy. Alexandra is one lucky little girl. Welcome to the world beautiful girl!
I don’t remember becoming a sister, I was only 1 year and 3 weeks to the day. (How on earth my mom did that I don’t know!) I have a spot in my heart when I have clients become big sisters.
These two came into the studio and you might say that big sis stole the show. Sean and I have dreams of a big family and I secretly hope that Adalynn get’s at least one sister in there;)
I instagrammed a few prints from this session a few days ago. I can’t stress how much I love when prints are in peoples hands…including my own. I am making it more of a priority for my own work and especially for my own families photos. Prints are so much more rewarding than digital!!
Congratulations to this sweet family and cheers to a lifetime of memories.
Noah was welcomed this past month into this sweet little family. They just moved here from Japan and I was so honored to be able to capture this special time for them. I absolutely adore his big sister Nadja and his momma couldn’t be more gorgeous on the inside and out. Welcome to the world Noah and congratulations to your sweet family!
I am always humbled at the privilege I have to document the first days of a babies life, and more importantly, the first days of a new family. I am even more humbled when it is for a fellow photographer trusting me with those first precious moments.
Danielle is an amazing studio photographer based in Bethesda, MD (Check out her website here.) She knew that she would be able to document those sweet curled newborn photos she is so good at, but she also knew she wanted to have her family documented as a whole…so that is where I came in.
I was so honored to meet little Cooper and to see Danielle in her new role as momma.
Being a mom and a photographer is such a blessing.
Welcome to the club Danielle! Photographer + Momma equals one great life and Cooper is one lucky little boy.
A life without love is like a year without summer. ~Swedish Proverb
This family has both. A lot of love and their own little Summer.
Congratulations Nikki and Joe. She is beautiful!
I can shoot for hours. It isn’t hard. It’s what I love. But there is such a great satisfaction when something like this is your first frame.
If I haven’t said it enough…I love these two. This is just the beginning of this gorgeous family and sweet images.
I can’t wait to share more.
I am so excited to see this family expand. Aidan couldn’t be a more deserving big brother and this little family just makes me smile.
Welcome to the world Felix and Noah and enjoy the best big brother you could ask for.
Yes Aiden…he did…we all did.
And now you know why I love my job:)
Congrats on being a big brother Aiden man!
Walking into homes with new babies every week…you get to see the start of new life… both the baby’s and the new momma’s. It’s amazing how one second it can just be you…and then suddenly…you have this little life that depends on you…for every…little…thing.
It would be a lie to say it comes naturally for every momma, but for this one it did.
Congratulations are your new little love and welcome to the most important role of your life:)
