Last summer, Sean, Adalynn and I went on our first little family vacation to Chincoteague, VA. I had been there before as a child, but as an adult and a mother, I fell in love with it in a new way. The combination of the low key atmosphere, the charming little shops and the most importantly the gorgeous horses on the beach just swept me away.
I am totally in awe of horses in general… but there is something indescribable about seeing these animals on the beach. It’s like romance…adventure… and magic all wrapped into one.
This past weekend we headed to Assateague Beach, Maryland, which is just north of Chincoteague. I was crossing my fingers to catch a glimpse of the ponies…and as seen above…I more than caught a glimpse.
It seems that almost every house I go into seems to have a little pup around. And I don’t know if dogs just like me or they are just excited to get attention since their new little brother or sister seems to be consuming it all, but they seem to flock to me. I don’t mind since I am quite used to the giant lab and little cairn in my own house, but sometimes it just cracks me up how they know someone new is in the house. This little one… Edy (pronounced Eee-dee) was a show stealer. Her little brother will be on the blog shortly, but just for a minute, I thought I would give her her own little place in the limelight.
